Cindy's Rooftop
Cindy's Rooftop is one of my favorite Rooftops in all of Chicago. If you are looking for snazzy cocktails and beautiful Chicago views, then look no further! Cindy's Rooftop is a part of the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel on Michigan Avenue. The great thing bout Cindy's is that it is open year round. Snow, wind, rain or shine Cindy's is open.
Cindy's is open to the public, in spite of being part of the hotel, the wait is 100% worth it. Cindy's has an indoor atrium and an outdoor viewing deck that looks over the ever so gorgeous Millennium Park. You can enjoy the fresh Chicago air and simply stunning views of Lake Michigan. The outdoor deck makes for a perfect photo op!
Fun fact: In the 1980s, any socialite worth her status had her portrait done by Andy Warhol. So, Cindy Pritzker, wife of Jay Pritzker, the founder of the Hyatt hotels, commissioned Warhol to immortalize her face in 1982,
The food is pretty tasty and the cocktails will surely run up your bill but the experience is worth the extra strain on your wallet. You can try any of the delicious hand crafted cocktails from the elixir menu. I highly recommend breakfast. The service is lovely and the fresh morning light is the perfect way to start your Sunday.
Some of my go-to cocktails are Cindy's include: The Gray Garden, Still Slizzard, Howl At The Jun and of course my absolute favorite,The Re-Animator.
The ambiance of Cindy's is very social and busy. This place is always packed, especially on weekends so get there early. Definable assert your dominance at the bar and try to snag a drink from the bartender. Cindy's is also perfect for a fun night out with your gal pals or a special occasion. They say a picture is worth a 1,000 words, but in this case, i'm just going to let the photos speak or themselves.
