So this is 27?
What better way to ring in the year 27 then spending it all dressed up and eating delicious food? I decided to go hang out at the Restoration Hardware restaurant in Oak Brook to start my day. I had never been to this location and I had heard how amazing the restaurant was. It was nice to get out of the city for a change. My mom and I decided to spend my birthday roaming around a beautiful gallery And enjoying some fantastic food. My favorite meal at our age is by far the RH grilled cheese with the truffle Parmesan aïoli fries. I have course got the signature chai latte, which was so damn good I ordered two more! For dessert, we enjoyed a fresh, warm and incredibly sweet, salted, chocolate chip cookie. My waitress even put a birthday candle in it for me. So sweet of her. We had a cute little bistro table right next to the fountain in the center of the restaurant, and it was absolutely beautiful. The service is always incredible and RH forever lives up to the hype. if you have a special occasion, you should definitely check out the RH in Oak Brook.
After lunch at Restoration, we hit up a few other spots downtown. I got to try a new matcha café called Matchacita. As someone who’s allergic to coffee, Matcha is one of my favorite teas to enjoy. This café was cute as hell and absolutely delicious. Bonus: I also found the most beautiful bathroom I’ve ever encountered. Matchacita had this breathtaking green wallpaper and beautiful subway tile. I have course had to snap a cute mirror selfie before heading over for drinks.
Next we hit up Bixi Beer for a cocktail and the ambience was absolutely beautiful. this was a little dive in Wicker Park. It had the cutest little rooftop. The design of this restaurant was gorgeous. I loved how airy and open the environment was. There was a live tree smack dab in the middle of the rooftop. The bar also had these amazing shelves and archways. After a few cocktails and a lovely time, it was time for dinner!
For the finale of my 27th birthday and I decided to make a reservation at Oliveta. This restaurant is superior Italian food in Chicago. It’s very difficult to find a great restaurant that won’t rip you off. Oliveta exudes, elegance and taste. From their interior design choices, to their beautiful art piece that doubles as a ceiling; this place is perfect for a birthday dinner. My favorite dish off the menu is the couch of a Pepe pillows. It’s such a fun twist on a classic dish. The ricotta pillows quite literally melted your mouth like butter and every time I eat one I have a sensory overload in my brain. I just can’t quite comprehend how delicious and fantastic these pillows are. I also ordered the Arancini for an appetizer, as well as the fresh baked honey focaccia. For dessert I opted for gelato, of course. Luckily they had my favorite flavor which was pistachio.
